October is Wisconsin Manufacturing Month, a time to recognize the people, innovation and impact behind one of Wisconsin’s most powerful economic drivers: manufacturing.

According to the Wisconsin Manufacturing Council, “Manufacturing is the state’s top industry, contributing over $73.7 billion to the Wisconsin economy, nearly 20 percent of the GDP.”

At Maysteel, we know firsthand that those numbers are supported by the dedicated men and women who deliver ideas into reality.

Proudly Made in Wisconsin

Maysteel was founded in 1936 right here in Wisconsin. Nearly 90 years later, our headquarters remains in Allenton, and our roots in the state run deep. Wisconsin isn’t just where we’re based, it’s part of who we are. The work ethic, craftsmanship and community spirit that define this state are the same values that built our company. From our first sheet metal enclosure to today’s data center infrastructure and energy solutions, we’ve evolved with Wisconsin’s manufacturing landscape, always grounded in quality, innovation and teamwork.

As our operations have expanded across six North American facilities, we’ve also grown right here in Wisconsin. Our Germantown, WI location serves as Maysteel’s Data Center Manufacturing Hub, where we’ve increased capacity to support the rapid growth of data center build

Wisconsin Manufacturing: From Local Legacy to Global Impact

The reach of Wisconsin manufacturing innovation extends far beyond the state’s borders. The components, systems and structures engineered and built here support industries worldwide, from telecommunications and data centers to power generation and renewable energy.

At Maysteel, our enclosures help enable the technology and infrastructure that connect people, power businesses, and sustain communities. That’s the impact of Wisconsin manufacturing, real products solving real challenges on a global scale.

The People Behind the Process

Wisconsin Manufacturing Month is ultimately a celebration of the people who bring each product to life, including fabricators, welders, engineers, program managers, assemblers and project managers.

Behind every product is a team that takes pride in precision. Whether it’s designing complex assemblies for data centers, fabricating custom enclosures for renewable energy or scaling production to meet critical power demands, our team members make it happen.

Their expertise drives reliability for our customers and fuels economic growth for our communities. They are the reason Maysteel continues to deliver on our mission: to protect what powers the future.

“Wisconsin’s manufacturing community represents innovation, resilience and progress. Together, we create opportunity, drive growth and shape the future of the industry.”

Investing in the Next Generation

A thriving manufacturing industry relies on a strong, skilled workforce and that begins with education and opportunities. That’s why Maysteel proudly partners with local organizations, technical schools and workforce initiatives that inspire the next generation of makers.

Our long-standing partnership with Moraine Park Technical College is one example where we’ve supported fabrication training, donated equipment and participated in career development programs to help students gain hands-on experience. By investing in tomorrow’s workforce, we’re helping ensure that Wisconsin remains a national leader in manufacturing for decades to come.

A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Community

As we celebrate Wisconsin Manufacturing Month, we’re proud to stand alongside the thousands of manufacturers across the state who share our commitment to excellence. From small businesses to large-scale producers, Wisconsin’s manufacturing community represents innovation, resilience and progress. Together, we create opportunity, drive growth and shape the future of American industry.

As we look ahead to Maysteel’s 90th anniversary in 2026, we remain committed to honoring the legacy of those who built this company and to continuing the spirit of innovation that defines Wisconsin manufacturing!
