Perform work related to assist production operations and processing.
Perform assigned tasks which may include positioning light weight materials on conveyor or feed mechanism for continuous processing, positioning and/or removing dies/fixtures to assist in set-ups, positioning and/or removing materials to assist machine operator, supply containers, light raw materials, miscellaneous cleanup duties (such as moving scrap, drop-offs, crating, packaging materials, etc.), or operate various types of fabricating machinery after set-ups are made (by another) to produce repetitive, routine and standardized parts.
Performs routine material handling duties. May function as a back-up departmental Lift Truck Operator.
Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture product at required quality levels.
Perform basic inspection, and progress towards statistical methods of measuring product quality.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Must possess substantial knowledge of set-ups to assist the in safe and efficient set-ups and changeovers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prefer a high school diploma or the equivalency.
Ability to read. Ability to write.
Ability to count. In some cases, ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to identify operational problems and ask for assistance. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid lift truck driver’s license is preferred. Job/customer specific certifications may be required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds or more.
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
