Group Lighting Control

Another option to consider for street and area lighting is the RLY-CSD. This method employs an RCOC relay and CSD primary oil switch to energize the transformer serving a dedicated lighting circuit. The advantages of using a CSD or vacuum switch to energize the lighting circuit are:

• Switching the primary ahead of the meter
  saves money in the form of transformer losses
• Controlled lighting operation
• Single point maintenance
• One photocell or other user-specified switch controls all the luminaries

Possible applications include: parking lots, athletic fields, schools, street and area lighting.
