FlexiGear™, a newly introduced family of pad-mount medium voltage switchgear from Maysteel, offers utilities a convenient build-to-order alternative at an attractive price. All industry-standard configurations can be ordered, in 15kV and 25kV ratings, with an array of optional features. The air-insulated units are sized to be drop-in replacements for conventional pad-mount gear, eliminating additional site preparation and engineering expense.

Fully assembled with top-quality switches, fuses and other components, FlexiGear units are housed in heavy-gauge, full-featured Maysteel enclosures, powder coated to exceed ANSI C57.12.28 requirements.

Other key features include:

• Deadfront and livefront designs available
• Easy-access swing-out fuse mountings
• Spring-hinged barrier preserves deadfront security during fuse changes
• Insulated aluminum bus and interconnects; copper optional
• Large thermoplastic viewing ports to confirm switch position
• External switch operator with easy-throw handle; motorized switches optional
• Door retainers and parking stands facilitate serviceability
• Special primer and finish coatings available
