News > New Trinetics® UltraVac™ Vacuum Switch Combines Unsurpassed Dielectric Strength and Long-Term DurabilityMarch 1, 2002 Maysteel has introduced a new line of solid dielectric, single-phase vacuum switches that establish new standards for durability and strength. The new Trinetics® UltraVac™ Solid Dielectric Vacuum capacitor switch features a rugged cycloaliphatic epoxy interrupter module, making it especially suited to applications with harsh conditions. Available for system applications up to 34.5kV grounded or 20kV ungrounded, UltraVac switches are quick and easy to install and can be operated manually via hookstick lever, or automatically with Maysteel ProCap™ microprocessor controls. Their ultra long-life, enclosed field-proven motor draws only three amps, providing dependable, long-life low voltage operation, and their full-body epoxy construction allows them to withstand the toughest environments, assuring maximum useful life. They've even been tested and certified to stringent ANSI single-phase requirements. UltraVac vacuum switches are manufactured by the Electric Utility Products & Enclosures Division of Maysteel, which makes a wide range of products for the electric utility industry, including Trinetics oil- and vacuum-type switches, ProCap capacitor controls. SmartBank™ pole- and pad-mounted capacitor stations, and high performance electrical enclosures. |
